Description |
With a 30-lb. load capacity and integrated GoTo encoder and stepper motor technology, the newly upgraded Orion Sirius EQ-G Equatorial GoTo Telescope Mount is the perfect platform for many of today's most popular visual and astrophotographic telescope optical tubes. This workhorse mount has been upgraded with a dual-width saddle to accommodate both Vixen- and Losmandy-style tube mounting plates, instead of Vixen-only plates. The saddle has a spring-loaded split clamp design with two large lock knobs to keep your optical tube securely attached.
The Orion Sirius EQ-G Equatorial GoTo Telescope Mount combines rock-solid stability with ease of use and precision Go-To pointing capability, making it the mount of choice for beginning and intermediate astrophotographers.
With its SynScan GoTo system and hand controller, the Orion Sirius EQ-G Equatorial GoTo Telescope Mount acquires and tracks celestial objects with pushbutton ease. Select from among 42,900 stars and deep-sky objects in the SynScan's database using the controller's intuitive menus, or use Deep Sky Tour mode to take a guided tour of the finest celestial showpieces visible on any given night. After a simple alignment procedure, the Sirius EQ-G GoTo Mount is ready to locate objects and put them right in your telescope's eyepiece or camera sensor - with up to 1 arc-minute accuracy.
The Orion Sirius EQ-G Equatorial GoTo Telescope Mount has a slewing speed of up to 3.4 degrees per second and an ST-4 autoguider interface for astrophotography. It features sidereal, lunar, and solar tracking rates and guiding speeds of 0.25x, 0.5x, 0.75x, and 1x as well as periodic error correction.
An illuminated polar scope is pre-installed in the mount's aluminum housing. The polar scope's dual-hemisphere, clock-face type reticle allows accurate polar alignment in both northern and southern hemispheres. Also included is a remarkably sturdy, extendable tripod with 1.75"- diameter stainless steel legs and a cast-metal spreader plate that doubles as an accessory tray, with holes for storing 1.25" and 2" telescope eyepieces. This venerable equatorial mount comes complete with an 8.3" Vixen-style tube ring mounting bar, two 11-lb. counterweights, 12V DC power cable, and hand controller holding bracket.
Requires a 12-volt DC 3A power source (sold separately). The Orion Sirius EQ-G Equatorial GoTo Telescope Mount weighs 33.5 lbs. including tripod (not including counterweights). |
