An All Round Camera
Presenting the ASI676MC, an all-sky camera with a 12MP resolution and a special square 1/1.6-inch image sensor! It is ideal for full sky surveillance and recording meteors. The high quality shows you the fine details of the Sun and Moon, while the square size makes mosaic stitching easier and more efficient. You can embark on an amazing voyage to explore the limitless night sky with this camera.
Square Format
One of the main advantages of the square format of ASI676MC is that it simplifies the mosaic creation process by removing the need to take into account the differences between the format's long and broad sides when mosaic stitching.
Furthermore, the ASI676MC's square format improves its compatibility with a wider range of lenses, including wide-angle and fisheye lenses. Therefore, ASI676MC is better suited for jobs like complete sky surveillance and meteor recording.
STARVIS 2 Sensor Technology by SONY
Sony invented STARVIS, a sensor technology that is more sensitive than the human eye. A further development of STARVIS technology, STARVIS 2 offers an even greater dynamic range.
With this technology, ASI676MC shows a considerable improvement in near-infrared sensitivity along with reduced readout noise and dark current.
No AMP Glow
No matter how high the gain value or how long the exposure is set for, ASI676MC does not exhibit amp glow. Note: There is no need for software control because this technology is implemented directly at the hardware level.
256mb DDR3
To provide reliable and secure data transfer, the camera has a built-in 256MB DDR3 cache and a USB 3.0 transmission port.
Built-In HCG Mode
An HCG mode that is included within the camera can efficiently reduce readout noise at high gain. As a result, the camera may continue to capture images with a high dynamic range even at low gain. The HCG mode is activated automatically when the gain reaches 180. The dynamic range can still approach 11stops, and the reading noise can be as low as 0.56e.
Quantum Efficiency
Two crucial metrics for assessing the performance of the camera are the readout noise and the QE curve. For the picture signal-to-noise ratio to be improved, higher OE and reduced readout noise are required.
Dark Colour Noise
Because of the ASI676MC's reduced dark current noise, images have a greater signal-to-noise ratio and are sharper overall, especially when taking pictures of dark things.
UV/IR-cut Coated Glass
In front of the sensor, ASI676MC has a UV/IR-cut coated window that is 21 mm in diameter and 1.1 mm in thickness. It efficiently raises image quality and decreases infrared interference.
