This robust yet lightweight carbon fibre tripod from ZWO is the ideal match for the ZWO AM5 or AM3 Equatorial/Alt-Azimuth mount. With a weight of just 5 pounds, this tripod is lightweight while maintaining a good load capacity for every mount. This tripod's great strength, resilience to impact, and extreme durability are all due to its carbon fibre construction. The tripod legs have a 1.5" upper section and a 1.4" lower section in diameter. When installed, the twin section design offers improved rigidity and stability for telescopes and cameras.

An adapter plate with three mounting points compatible with the ZWO AM5 or AM3 mount head (not supplied) is provided with the tripod plate head. This guarantees a very strong and steady connection. There's also a 3/8" locking knob in the centre that can be adjusted in a number of ways. You can leave it as is for the ZWO AM5 or AM3 mount head. You can leave it upside down and use a 3/8" tapped hole to fasten it for various mounting. The mount's and tripod's connection is strengthened by the sturdy lock.

For further stability, ZWO has incorporated a spreader plate with this tripod. The spreader plate spreads and locks the legs in place by pressing up against them when the knob is tightened. For further stability, you can stuff the supplied weight bag with stones, weights, or a telescope battery pack.

This tripod works with mounting from the following manufacturers: Celestron, iOptron, Rainbow Astro, and Sky-Watcher, in addition to the ZWO AM3 and AM5 mount.
