The Celestron Photographic/Video Tripod is really useful when you want to do hand’s-free viewing through binoculars or a small spotting scope. It’s aluminum frame is lightweight and easy to carry, especially with the built-in handle. The portability factor makes it easy to take this tripod with you on camping trips or nature outings; or keep it in the trunk of your car for optics support whenever you need it.
The legs of the Celestron Photographic Tripod are fully adjustable to best match the height you require. A geared central column with adjustable tension allows you to raise the tripod head higher than the fully extended legs would allow. Minimum height is 27”, and the maximum extended height is 63”. A center brace stabilizes the legs in place, and you can increase the tripod’s stability by hanging extra weight from a hook located at the bottom of the center column.
The 3-way panning-style tripod head is great for taking videos or following a moving target due to its smooth, continuous movement capabilities. A quick release plate on the panhead can be removed for easy attachment to the 1/4-20 port on the bottom of your camera or spotting scope. An optionaltripod binocular adapter with binoculars attached can also screw onto the quick release plate, then simply snap the plate into the tripod head and lock it into place.
Please keep in mind that this is a lightweight tripod. It is not meant for heavy binoculars, spotting scopes, or telescopes, or any equipment that weighs over approximately 4 lbs.
